In spite of heavy rains, the Chennai December season has been kick-started by the impressive opening of Thavamai Thavamirunthai and Kanda Naal Mudhal. At number one is Kanda Naal Mudhal which opened in smaller screens but took nearly 100 percent opening.

TT released on Saturday without any publicity took 85 percent opening in the huge Albert, Santham, Padmam and Chandran and is the number two.

Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire with an impressive Rs 4,82,000 net from Sathyam alone is at number three while Ajay Devgan-Nana Patekar Apaharan, takes the fourth place. At number five is ABCD.
