New Delhi, Feb 8 (IANS) Delhi Metro will start charging higher parking fees from March 1.
The daily parking fee for cars and taxis has been doubled from Rs.10 to Rs.20 for six hours, from Rs.15 to Rs.30 for 12 hours, and from Rs.25 to Rs.40 thereafter, a Delhi Metro Rail Corporation official said Friday.
Parking fees for two-wheelers and auto-rickshaws have been hiked from Rs.5 to Rs.10 for six hours, Rs.8 to Rs.15 for 12 hours and Rs.12 to Rs.20 thereafter, the official said.
The monthly parking fee for cars will go up to Rs.1,000 from Rs.625, for motorcycle, scooters and auto-rickshaw from Rs.300 to Rs.475, and for cycle-rickshaw from Rs.30 to Rs.45.
For parking cycles, one has to pay a rupee more - Rs.3 for six hours, Rs.4 for 12 hours and Rs.5 for longer hours. Monthly fee has hiked from Rs.30 to Rs.45.
Night parking charges have also gone up. For car, it will be Rs.40 instead of Rs.25 while for two-wheelers and auto-rickshaws, it will be Rs.20 and Rs.5, the official said.
