Kolkata, Jan 17 (IANS) The CPI-M Thursday criticised the Congress-led central government's decision to allow public sector firms to hike diesel prices from "time to time", saying the rates will now "go on increasing".
"Now, diesel prices will go on increasing," Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M) general secretary Prakash Karat told mediapersons here.
Karat, in the city to attend the party's central committee meeting, called on senior party leader and former West Bengal minister Abdur Rezzak Mollah who is recuperating from lumber fracture in a private hospital.
Mollah, one of the seniormost MLAs in the state, was severely beaten up Jan 6 allegedly by Trinamool workers led by former Trinamool Congress legislator Arabul Islam in South 24 Parganas district.
