Touch-screen phones are new to Nokia. The 5800 XpressMusic did not exactly sweep you off your feet. But you could forgive the lapses in the phone as it was Nokia's first touch-screen mobile. The N97 does well to clear some of the issues that users faced in the 5800.
Though it hasn't gone for a capacitive touch-screen like the iPhone, it is by far more responsive and easier to use mainly because of its 3.5-inch widescreen display.
