The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) will start testing these trains, equipped with cameras and sensors to make up for the lack of a real driver, from July according to reports.
However, initially, the trains will be operated by Train operators.
Unattended Train Operations (UTO) will start on line 8 (Janakpuri West to Botanical Garden) on July 1, followed by line 6 (ITO to Kashmere Gate section) the same month, and line 7 (Mukundpur to Shiv Vihar) from October 16, according to Dr Mangu Singh, Managing Director, DMRC.
"Internationally, such trials generally take about one to one and a half years," he added.
