Gold ETFs shine during Akshaya Tritiya

Mumbai: Despite the downturn in the economy, investors seemed to have kept their date with gold on what is considered in India to be an auspicious occasion to buy the precious metal.

Akshaya Tritiya, which fell on Monday (April 27), is considered auspicious for buying gold in almost every part of the country. The day witnessed huge volumes in gold exchange traded funds (ETFs).
