Hybrid cars set to become cheaper!

The Centre plans to lower import duty on hybrid and eco-friendly cars. If the government cuts the import duties, then the cars such as Honda Civic, Nissan Altima, Toyota Prius and General Motors' Tahoe are set to become cheaper in the country.

At present, the hybrid cars attract more than 100% in duties and taxes and this makes them costlier in India.

The Centre's move will enthuse car majors to bring in more prominent models into the country.
