Sedan is one such segment which epitomizes the definition of cars. However many segment cars are launched in the market every year, but its the quintessential family plus luxury design of sedans that's something that grabs eyeballs everywhere. Elegance, class, taste, a sedan says a lot about the rider. No manufacturer can go wrong with a sedan in terms of design aesthetics but very few manage to convert the visual appeal into driving pleasure. Hyundai proved to among those few with its latest announcement to launch Hyundai Xcent. Launched on the 12th of March, the car is already heating up the automobile arena. While many cars keep popping up in the hatchback segment they create competition for only models from their turf, but whenever a new car comes into the sedan segment it creates ripples in other segments too. The reason is the basic desire to own a sedan. With the mechanical prowess of international manufacturers, sedans aren't show pieces anymore. They can perform and at times even out beat some of the budget performance vehicles.
The Indian automobile market, in particular, is seeing an increased number of models in its sedan segment. Be it the tax rebates on the sub four meter vehicles or the ease of using a compact sedan in the busy Indian roads, the sales of the sedans and compact sedans also increased over the time.Text
