State-run refiner and oil marketing firm Indian Oil Corp said on Friday there would be no major impact on operations after a fire broke out on Thursday at its terminal in Jaipur, in north-western India.
IOC said while the loss due to the fire is yet to be determined, the petroleum stocks were insured.
"We are allowing tankages and product to be burnt.... The tanks were not filled to full capacity," G.C. Daga, director for marketing at IOC told Reuters on Friday.
A major fire erupted in a fuel storage facility at Jaipur late Thursday, killing up to six people at the depot.
The depot can store up to 35,000 kilolitres each of petrol, diesel and kerosene, Daga said.
