The Indian stock markets witnessed yet another major fall; the Sensex lost a whopping 951 points during Monday`s trading. Fears of an imminent recession in the United States and surging credit losses have taken a heavy toll on the Indian bourses. There has been no trace of gainers in both the BSE and NSE exchanges.
Consumer durable index was the top loser among sectoral indices on the BSE. The index fell more than 10%. Fertiliser stocks also declined sharply. All the BSE secoral indices closed in the red on account of bear hammering.
