Maruti Alto K10 against three worthy opponents

Maruti Suzuki has about 50 per cent market share of the Indian car market of which a large contribution is made by one its best selling models is the entry level hatchback Alto. Keeping in mind the dynamic market conditions Maruti has launched an advanced version of the Alto - the new Maruti Alto K10, which would exist with the older version.

The new Alto would be powered by the company's much talked about 1.0L, K10 engine that delivers 68PS of maximum power at 6200rpm with 90Nm of maximum torque at 3200rpm. The car has been launched in two variants - Alto K10 LXI and Alto K10 VXI and is priced between Rs 3.03 - 3.16 lakh (ex showroom Delhi). Maruti Alto's ARAI (Automotive Research Association of India) figures suggest an impressive 20.2 kmpl mileage.

The new Alto has a dynamic hood, eagle eyed clear lens headlamps, fog lamps, body coloured bumpers, odometer, trip meter and speedometer are present along with LCD screen. Alto K10 also has internally adjustable ORVMs, tinted glasses, body coloured bumpers, precise and smart front grill, stylish tail gate, large13-inch tubeless tyres, trendy wheel-covers and interesting body side mouldings.
