The Prime Minister, Dr Manmohan Singh, and the UPA Chairperson, Ms Sonia Gandhi, presented the UIDs to 10 people from Tembhli village in Nandurbar district of Maharashtra on Wednesday.
Unique Identification Authority of India chief, Nandan Nilekani, the Maharashtra Chief Minister, Ashok Chavan, the Deputy Chief Minister, Chagan Bhujbal, the Maharashtra Governor, K Shankarnarayan, the Planning Commission Deputy Chairman, Montek Singh Ahluwalia, were also present at the inauguration function of project Aadhar, attended by over one lakh residents from the area.
