Parliament to the rescue

With a host of ministers wanting to join the prime minister on his trip to Washington, Parliament came in as a handy excuse. The ministers were told they couldn’t come along since their presence was required in Parliament. The most to heave a sigh of relief were officials in the delegation who will now get to join meetings from which they would have been edged out by ministers — since there is a limit on how many can attend delegation-level meetings.
