Hyderabad , Nov 15 (IANS) Britain's Deputy High Commissioner Mike Nithavrianakis Thursday flagged off the first shipment of coated ceramic products manufactured by RN Photo Coatings at Sri City Special Economic Zone (SEZ) in Nellore district of Andhra Pradesh to his country.
The first phase of RN Photo Coatings, one of the three British firms based in Sri City SEZ, has commenced production. A joint venture between AT Promotions Ltd (ATP) and Tams India, RN Photo Coatings manufacture coated ceramic products.
At full capacity, the facility will manufacture over 25 million mugs per annum and employ over 200 people, said a statement released here.
Ravindra Sannareddy, managing director, Sri City, said, the SEZ also has other British firms Andrew Industries, manufacturers of industrial products, and Bergen Pipes, manufacturers of pipes support equipment for power plants.
Anil Kumar Bamba, development commissioner, Sri City SEZ, said Sri City currently has over 80 companies from 23 countries and provides direct and indirect employment to about 10,000 people. The estimated employment potential, both direct and indirect, in the next three years will be around 70,000.
