Royal Bank of Scotland sacks 7 directors

Royal Bank of Scotland Group PLC sacked seven non-executive directors Friday as part of the restructuring agreed with the British government when it pumped in around 20 billion pounds to save the bank from collapse.

Following the cull, which includes former World Trade Organization chief Peter Sutherland, the group's board will be made up of four executive directors and five non-executive directors.

The company said the smaller board will help it restructure quicker and more efficiently.
