Russia's space agency says a ruptured communications cable serving its Mission Control just outside Moscow has been fixed.

Roscosmos spokesman Alexei Kuznetsov said Thursday in a statement carried by Russian news agencies that the cable, cut accidentally by construction workers a day earlier, is now working again. He reaffirmed that the accident hasn't had any impact on the International Space Station or Russian satellites.

The accident hasn't affected the planned return of three of the station's crew back to Earth set for Monday.

Josh Byerly, a spokesman for the U.S. space agency NASA, said Wednesday that the Russian space program had another ground communications site in operation and was communicating with the space station via Johnson Space Center in Houston without problems.
