In recent days there has been a couple of indications of the current standing of Barack Obama within the US itself, which could provide us with some idea of the impact the policies of the new US President has had.
The less important of the two pointers is the criticism made recently by the former US Vice-President, Dick Cheney, of certain aspects of the new President's policies which were "making the US unsafe and more prone to attacks by terrorists".
