The cars getting a facelift this season

Diwali marked the onset of festive fervour which continues till the New Year.

People usually plan to make the most important and grand purchases during this period, and thus, car makers launch their best products too during this time.

While many new car models - the Renault Koleos, the Mahindra XUV 500, the Honda Brio and the Hyundai EON - that have made it to the market have been developed from scratch, there are also many cars in the pipeline that are going to be facelifts of existing models.

Most of them will inherit the DNA of their parent car, but will flaunt their cosmetic make-up.

These include new avatars of the Toyota Fortuner, the Toyota Innova, the Honda City, the Mahindra Xylo, the Tata Nano, the Tata Safari, the Jaguar XF, the Chevrolet Cruze, the Volkswagen Vento, the Honda Civic, the Fiat Linea, the Honda CR-V and the Honda Accord.

After launching the competitively priced-Honda Brio, Honda India could now launch the new Honda City sedan anytime soon.

The new Honda City is already being sold in Thailand.

The car will have a modified front end with new bumpers, a new front air dam, a revised grille design with a tint of chrome, new tail lamps and reflectors on the rear bumper.

It will also witness changes in interiors also with an ECO-indicator in the instrumentation console.

Automatic climate control is also expected to be added to the new Honda City facelift that will also sport a dual-color scheme within.

However, don't expect a diesel version anytime in the near future.

A 1.5 litre I-Vtec engine that will produce the power of 116 bhp will do the duty for the new City.
