As the year 2009 draws to a close it is time to look back on the past 12 months to see how the mutual fund industry has performed.

There has been a change in the overall conditions during the year as the first few months witnessed some tough times for investors.

After that there has been an improvement in the situation especially in the equity markets as the prices have surged all around.

Mutual fund investors have been the beneficiaries of this situation and the return for them has also improved significantly during the last one year. Here is a look at the performance aspect of mutual funds over the past year.
