This bold ad had dared to break stereotypes, I found, by showing a dark woman (let's do away with the euphemisms, please) with a daughter getting married to a guy who's nice enough to carry the little girl as they do the pheras.
Just in case we didn't get that this was the dark woman's daughter and that the man is not her father, the girl asks in the end, "Can I call you 'Daddy'?"
Okay, so now we know the dark woman isn't a virgin.
In 2012, Vicky Donor was brave, bold and breaking stereotypes, not just with its sperm donation theme, but also because the female lead was a divorcee. But, she tells Vicky that she stayed with her husband only for a few hours after the marriage, and she came back the same day in all her bridal finery - so, you know, we know she's a virgin divorcee.
But, thanks to this ad, we know that dark, single mothers needn't feel so completely useless. They just may land a nice guy.
