The launch of the Nokia 3,5 and 6 must have rekindled fond memories of the Nokia brand from the past. You will recollect models such as 1100 and 3310, a proud association for many Indians. The 1100 coincidentally sold 250 million units, a global record for the largest selling phone in the world.
But besides, feature phones, the Finnish phone-maker has also been associated with smartphones that featured uncanny designs.
These phones were not smartphones essentially but they were smart enough to serve the intended objective- surfing internet on a GPRS line, making calls, and texting. Here are 6 of the popular ones.
Nokia phones managed to outsell the Apple in 1997, when iPhone was launched. Most notable was the Nokia N95 for some time. In fact, the Symbian OS had a dominating 62.5% market share as of Q4 2007, well ahead of Microsoft's Windows Mobile (11.9%) and RIM (10.9%). Nearly 7 million units of the device were sold.
