ACC sales up 9% in Jan

ACC sales grew nearly 9 per cent to 2.23 million tonnes in January compared to the same month a year ago.

The cement manufacturer, in which Swiss major Holcim holds majority stake, had sold 2.05 mt in January 2011, it said in a statement.

Production also increased to 2.25 mt from 2.06 mt.

Shares of ACC were trading higher by 2.42 per cent at Rs 1,229.70 apiece on the BSE in the mid-session.
