The NSE and BSE on Wednesday announced extension of trading hours for Gold Exchange Traded Funds (ETFs) till 7 pm on Akshaya Tritiya (May 9).
Akshaya Tritiya. along with Dhanteras and Diwali, is considered to be among the most auspicious days to buy gold in India.
The volumes of gold ETFs traded is usually higher on these days.
The exchanges will conduct an extended trading session on May 9 for trading in Gold ETFs, the two exchanges notified through separate circulars.
After the regular market hours, which is from 9.15 am to 3.30 pm, trading in gold ETFs alone will resume at 4.30 pm and continue till 7 pm, they announced.
Each Gold ETF unit is generally equivalent to one gram of gold.
All 13 gold ETFs will be available for trading during these extended trading session.
