Kolkata, Nov 20 (IANS) Tata Sons' chairman−designate Cyrus P. Mistry Tuesday took over as chairman of Tata Global Beverages Ltd (TGBL), the world's second largest tea company.
According to a company release here, Ratan Tata stepped down as the chairman of the TGBL effective Nov 20.
Tata will, however, continue on the board of the tea major till his retirement in December this year.
Mistry was inducted into the board in June 2012. He had been appointed deputy chairman of Tata Sons Limited in November last year.
TGBL, a part of the Tata Group, is a global beverage business. Its brands have presence in over 40 countries. The firm has significant interests in tea, coffee and water.
