New Delhi, Nov 23 (IANS) Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit Friday ordered the authorities to ensure proper functioning of street lights in the national capital.
She expressed concern over the non−functioning street lights despite the installation of the supervisory control and data acquisition (Scada) system. It is a type of system that controls and monitors electrical systems through computer.
"It seems that proper monitoring over Scada is not being done," Sheila Dikshit said in a meeting.
The chief minster asked state Chief Secretary P.K. Tripathi to devise a mechanism after detail consultations with all concerned agencies to ensure well−lit roads matching to a world−class city.
The meeting was attended, among others, by Power Minister Haroon Yusuf and Public Works Department Minister Raj Kumar Chauhan.
