New Delhi, Dec 14 (IANS) Keeping in view the increasing population of Delhi and the mushrooming of new colonies on the city's outskirts, the Delhi government announced that Delhi Transport Corportion would start plying on new routes.
"Delhi's population is increasing day by day. Further, new colonies are also coming up in far-flung localities. It becomes appropriate to start new routes," Delhi Transport Minister Ramakant Goswami said.
"The DTC would start new routes as per the need of the localities, based on a study being conducted on a regular basis by DTC," the minister said.
A total of 3,106 DTC buses ply on over 750 routes.
