Edureka launches courses in IoT and Ethereum Developer

Bengaluru: Popularity of crypto-currency and blockchain technologies has resulted in a course being developed for students.

Edureka, the company behind the courses said it has launched courses in IoT (Internet of Things), and Ethereum Developer.

Both IoT and Blockchain platforms, including Ethereum, are ranked among the top tech skills to have in 2018. Edureka believes that it’s live, in-depth, instructor-led training programs packed with real-life case studies and practical demos would plug the gap in the jobs market.

The IoT market is expected to grow from USD 170.57 billion in 2017 to USD 561.04 billion by 2022 at CAGR of 26.9% according to market research reports.

With devices becoming smart, there is a growing demand for professionals who can implement architecture to handle end-to-end computing at the device level.

Adoption of intelligent agents like Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant is on the rise and IoT will become the backbone of future customer value, resulting in a five-fold increase in job opportunities in this area.

In a note to, the company said that such courses would help the industry by providing additional skillsets. Re-skilling, Edureka believes is no more of an option, but a necessity for IT professionals in the volatile IT industry.

The training programs in IoT and Ethereum are aimed at mid-level executives to close their skill gap and fast-track their career growth.

Vineet Chaturvedi, Co-Founder, Edureka, said, “The average life span of a technical skill is now lower than ever. Continuous up-skilling is the only way technology professionals can keep pace with the rapidly changing skill landscape.”

He explained further that Edureka’s IoT Certification course was a one-of-its-kind 30-hour program tailored by industry experts designed to help learners become IoT Solutions Architects. It would cover in-depth concepts such as IoT framework, IoT ecosystem, IoT solution architecture, networking protocols and application layer protocols. Learners will gain hands-on experience with Azure IoT hub and Alexa Voice and work on Raspberry Pi and Sense HAT.

Edureka’s Ethereum Developer Certification course, on the other hand is a 15-hour program that would train learners in the underlying concepts of Blockchain technology and provides them with complete understanding of Ethereum ecosystem. This Course is aimed at professionals who are interested in developing Smart contracts and DApps on Ethereum platform using Solidity programming language.

The demand for professionals with skill sets in Blockchain technologies has increased by 50% in the last one year and India is emerging as a leader for Blockchain talent.

LinkedIn data too shares the same trend. The data reveals a 30% increase in year-on-year job postings in Blockchain. Besides technologies such as Ethereum have multiple uses in domains such as Finance, Technology, Cybersecurity and Healthcare, among others.

This has led to a demand for Blockchain specialists that far exceeds the supply. Demand is largely from IT/IT services, Finance and Security domains.

Chaturvedi added that the newly-launched courses at Edureka were in addition to it’s growing portfolio of over 100 in-demand courses.

According to Edureka’s website, the Ethereum developer certification course is priced at Rs 19,995, while the IoT course is priced at Rs 29,995. In case you sign-up before April 21st, you could expect a 10% discount on the programs.
