Embattled Internet firm Yahoo has released new versions of its popular web email service, Yahoo Mail.
This is the first major product overhaul since former Google executive Marissa Mayer became chief executive of the firm.
Yahoo has released new versions of Yahoo Mail for smartphones and tablets, in keeping with Mayer's focus on mobile devices, as well as a revamped version of its web-based email service for computer users, the Telegraph reports.
According to the paper, Mayer announced the changes in a new blog post.
"You've told us loud and clear that you want fewer distractions when it comes to email. You want to quickly login, communicate, and get on with your day," she wrote.
According to the paper, Yahoo Mail is the third largest web mail service in the world, behind Google and Hotmail, but it is the leading service in the United States.
Mayer, a former Google executive who is widely admired in Silicon Valley for her Web product savvy, is moving to revitalize Yahoo's various Web products and reverse years of declining revenue.
She has said her top priority is to create a coherent mobile strategy for Yahoo. (ANI)
