A fire broke out at the Jamnagar refinery complex of Reliance Industries Limited following a gas leakage this morning. Reports say two workers died and six are critically injured in the mishap.
Reliance Industries said that the unit where the fire broke out was under maintenance shutdown and that the fire has been put out.
While the Reliance fire brigade extinguished the fire swiftly, this has resulted in injuries to some contract workers, who are being provided necessary medical treatment. All operations of the refinery continue to be normal," read the RIL statement.
Reliance Industries shares are down nearly 2% at Rs 988 at present.
