Asia-Pacific talks to seek unity on euro crisis

Stocks around the globe remained volatile ahead of the European summit, expected to ease the looming debt crisis. Indian markets were no different. They remained extremely volatile in the past one week for various reasons, global and domestic. The markets reacted to reports that food inflation had fallen sharply to 6.6 per cent for the week ended November 26, compared to eight per cent in the previous week ended November 19, and also to reports of foreign direct investment in retail having been put on hold.

The portfolios of Smart Portfolios' fund managers reflected the volatility in the markets.
