Panaji, Jan 30 (IANS) The Goa government might soon own an offshore casino ship of its own.
One of seven offshore casino vessels, abandoned by disgraced Haryana minister Gopal Kanda, would be taken over by the Goa government and auctioned, Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar told the state assembly Wednesday.
"Its licence has expired and if the firm does not shift the vessel from the Mandovi river, we will be forced to take it over and auction it," Parrikar said.
The offshore casino ship is owned by G.G. Private Limited, a company operated by Kanda. The former Haryana minister is accused of abetting the suicide of a young woman flight attendant who worked with a now-defunct airline that he owned.
