Gold dragged down by euro's loss on Greek concern

Spot gold dropped more than 1 percent on Friday to approach $1,711 per ounce, dragged down by euro weakness after a leader of a party in the Greek coalition said he would not vote for measures needed to secure a bailout for the country.

The euro fell to $1.3185 from $1.3230 on trading platform EBS to trade down around 0.6 percent for the day.
