India CEO's arrest
Samir Behl, Regional President of Amway, Europe, India and South Africa has put to rest apprehensions that were raised from his earlier interview to a newspaper.
Behl had argued that his company never had to contend with harassment by law enforcement officials of the kind it's facing in India. Behl was commenting after India CEO William Pinckney was arrested over charges of cheating and fraud.
Behl went on to make a far reaching statement saying that the arrest will undermine the confidence of foreign investors.
However, in an interview to Business Standard, he clarified that Amway has not exited any country and will not leave India. Behl said that it has become a global issue and his company is lobbying at various levels to rectify the situation.
Let's look at the facts of the case before commenting on it.
