The state cabinet on Friday decided to bring a law in the forthcoming winter session of the state Assembly to provide relief to the owners of flats, houses and commercial establishments..
In the proposed law, registration of flats will be mandatory and flats sold by builders or owners must be registered within three months from the date of actual transaction. The law also provides compulsory parking space for all flats in a complex.
The Jharkhand Apartment (Flat Ownership) Act, 2011 suggested a penalty of Rs 2,000 per day for delaying registration beyond the stipulated time.
In the proposed law, any owner of a house/ commercial establishment can get his property vacated within nine months after serving a notice to his tenant. In case of senior citizens or army personnel, the notice period will be six months.
