This is among the early adopters of SD 855. It is also the first phone with a 12 GB RAM. A few days ago, OnePlus launched the Mclaren edition with a massive 10 GB RAM. Another chinese smartphone maker Vivo too joined the bandwagon launching a 10 GB variant.

More RAM can certainly help increase power, however lesser RAM does not mean daily tasks could take a beating.

Will it be the first Snapdragon 855?

Snapdragon 855 was unveiled in Hawaii in late 2018, and smartphone makers such as Samsung and OnePlus have been reported as among the early adopters of Snapdragon's latest SoC. While Samsung is rumoured to be considering the Snapdragon 855 for the 10th anniversary special- the Samsung S10, OnePlus could be utilising the SoC in OnePlus 7.

At the start of the month, OnePlus' Chief Pete Lau had been reported as saying that OnePlus would be the first to use the 855 chipset, however that report turned into a hoax. More on that here

The Lenovo Z5 Pro GT is expected to arrive in early 2019, probably the end of January. If reports are to be believed, Lenovo will place the model available from Jan 24 onwards. At the moment, the Chinese website for Lenovo reflects a price of 4398 yuan (approximately Rs 44,900).
