'Licences issued to Spice have not been cancelled'

Idea Cellular on Monday clarified that the company was one of the original mobile operators and has merged with Spice communications in a court approved order.
Cartoon: What Facebook users are now askingLast week’s Supreme Court ruling of cancelling licenses impacts only those licenses granted in 2008. The licenses of Spice communication were granted in 1995. They have not been cancelled.
“Idea Cellular is a pan-India operator and Punjab is an integral part of the Idea family. We look forward to continuing the Idea journey together,” Idea Cellular said in a statement.
