Maruti Suzuki recently launched the Celerio with a factory-fitted CNG kit at a price tag of Rs 4,68,517 (Ex-showroom, Delhi). This CNG variant is called Maruti Celerio Green
and is available only in Vxi trim.
Maruti introduced the B-segment Celerio hatchback at the Delhi Auto Expo, 2014. It was widely recognised for its design, features and revolutionary auto-gear shift technology, a first in India.
The auto-gear shift technology in entry B-segment cars reflects urban customers' changing preference towards automatics. Even in a sluggish auto market, the Celerio garnered an advance booking of over 36,000 units and is still clocking 1000 bookings per day.
There are huge expectation from this new entrant as at this rate, it can easily surpass the Alto - Maruti's best-selling car.
Celerio's incredible success can be attributed to: 1)
Maruti has a huge dealer and workshop network in the country. Its auto parts are easily available in the local market. Importantly people have huge trust in this brand. 2)
The auto-gear shift technology incorporated in the Celerio is low on maintenance and hassle-free which makes it a good choice for urban consumers. 3)
Its low price tag of 3.76 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) makes it a good choice for price-conscious Indian consumers. The AMT version is priced Rs 38,000 higher than the manual variant. This has motivated 49% of buyers to opt for the automatic version in comparison of 51% those who opted for manual. 4)
Celerio returns a mileage of 23.1 km per litre. 5)
Maruti has revolutionised its product lineup by launching the AMT version of Celerio. This may prompt other competitors to launch AMT-fitted cars, as well.Text
