McDonald's raises dividend by 9 cents

McDonald's Corp. is raising its quarterly cash dividend from 61 cents to 70 cents.

The world's largest fast-food chain plans to pay the dividend Dec. 15 to its shareholders of record as of Dec. 1.

McDonald's has raised its quarterly dividend every year since 1976.

CEO Jim Skinner says the company will return $6 billion to shareholders in 2011 through dividends and share repurchases.
