Yes most of these companies have been rated as innovative and successful companies. But they are also companies headquartered in the Nordic.

For the uninitiated these companies belong to the the Northern part of Europe, basically the group of five countries- Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden.

While most of these companies have an India presence, the number of opportunities for Indian companies, especially in the ICT sector is limited to only those with established routes. In simpler words, it might be easier to spot an engineer sipping on a Carlsberg in India, but to imagine the same engineer offer AI based services to the beer-maker would be quite a remote possibility.

After all, life for an Indian SME in the international market does not seem as levelled as it is for the established players.

It is only thanks to the proliferation of advancements in the communication infrastructure that Indian SMEs in the IT sector now have access to international markets through partners and marketplaces.

Otivr, a Swedish technology startup is helping transform the IT outsourcing business by providing a gateway to Europe and Nordics for Indian SMEs as they have a strong foothold in European and Nordics region.

The company says that 10,000 professionals are offering strategic IT services through their platform. And nearly 70% of the ICT suppliers registered on Otivr's platform are Indian SMEs and software professionals.

As on date, the company has boosted their supplier base to over 150 high-quality SMEs offering project solutions and dedicated resources starting from front-end developers, back-end developers, UX/UI designers, 3D artists, AI experts, tech developers with expertise in Java, Python, Microsoft technologies, Salesforce and many more.

One among Otivr's key strength is it's window to Sweden and the Nordic region. The Nordic has been noted as an incumbent region for business growth. With rapid increase in innovation and business, the demand for quality manpower is only rising. This has led to huge outsourcing opportunities to be tapped.

A report titled ‘Sweden a key driver of Nordic ICT growth’ published by industry body NASSCOM, pegs the total IT spend among Nordic companies at $60 billion in 2019 and $62 billion by 2020. Sweden, the report notes, is the country with a 40% ($23 billion in 2016-17 out of total $57 billion) of the total share of the Nordic IT spend.

Ricky Dhillon the CEO at Otivr says, “the opportunities in specialized needs in the IT space with emerging technologies is tremendous, especially in the Nordic. We have added strategic services such as gaming and security, expanding our supplier base to over 10,000 skilled, professionals working with SMEs in the Nordics."

Speaking about the potential sectors, he says, "Indian SMEs with a forward vision are innovating in growing fields such as AI, Machine Learning, IoT and Business Intelligence. We are closing the gap by opening up business opportunities in front of them to capture, providing access to the lucrative B2B sector with high value clients in international markets.”

Although Otivr is a three year venture, it has the backing of the Swedish embassy and hence has extensive support from the local community.

Behind Otivr is its strong business model that promises Indian SMEs and mid-sized firms an opportunity to tap into the IT spending in Sweden and the Nordic belt.

Otivr's B2B portal acts as a marketplace connecting companies with hi-quality verified IT professionals and comapnies. According to the website, the registration is 100% free.

One among Otivr's major services is providing support throughout the procurement and delivery process, and enabling a smooth IT transition to enterprises. On the supplier side, the company is expanding their service segments by including highly innovative service providers within AI, machine learning and Big data to its offerings among others. Otivr offers dedicated resources - both offshore and onshore, project solutions for core services like Web development, Mobile application development, E-commerce, Business Intelligence, ERP system, UI/UX design, Database building and maintenance and others along with services related to highly innovative areas like Big Data, Cloud Computing, IoT and AI. Otivr will also include offering of dedicated on-shore resources to its solution offerings this autumn.

Dhillion says, “co-ordinating with our clients and partners at the ‘front-end’, we are expanding the range of our services, integrating with more suppliers to cater to the rising demand for niche services in the Nordic region."

He further adds, "We recently added gaming with Embassy House, one of the largest incubators in Sweden in the space. Interestingly, we are seeing growth in assignments such as customized integrations projects, building major platforms, databases, business tools, web development projects, apps and so forth. This indicates the scope of further collaboration with suppliers offering expertise in advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence, machine learning, micro services and digital productivity. Indian market is ripe with innovative professionals, skilled for this space."
