| Standard Chartered Asset Management Company is the first addition of calendar 2000 to the Indian mutual fund family. With its aim to become a specialised debt funds house in the country ANZ Mutual Fund kicked off its operations by launching an open-end debt fund in June 2000. The AMC has a strong parentage in ANZ Banking Group which is Australia’s leading international banking and financial services group. ANZ AMC is the second mutual fund to be sponsored by a foreign bank after ING Savings Trust sponsored by ING Bank launched operations last year. ANZ AMC plans to launch other debt products including a gilts and short-term debt fund in the near future. | ||||||||||||||||||
