Chennai: Midcareers.com conducted the Midpros survey to serve the interests of middle career professionals.
Some of the survey’s key findings:
* Midpros perceived job websites/portals to be more suitable for junior level vacancies.
* Placement consultants need to have and provide better clarity on the job positions.
* There is a strong preference for independence in the work place while performing their jobs.
* Only 9 per cent of the respondents said they were very satisfied with their current job. Significant number of respondents, in excess of 50 per cent rated "satisfied to some extent” against 32 per cent who rated “satisfied to a large extent”.
* Only 5 per cent of the respondents felt that 100 per cent of their potential was being utilized in their current job. 51 per cent felt that their potential was being used between 50 per cent and 80 per cent and 23 per cent felt their potential was used less than 50 per cent.
The survey was conducted, through mail and telephone on 903 middle career IT professionals, between December 2007 and January 2008.
