Private label lingerie e-shop Moodsofcloe run by Delhi-based Purple Panda Retail Pvt Ltd is targeting the fashion lingerie market in a big way after raising an undisclosed seed investment from Zurich-based Mountain Partners AG and an arm of the Kanwar family that run Apollo Tyres.
The Cloe brand lingerie aims to go beyond the e-com platform - targeting sales through offline stores as well.
The founders of Purple Panda are the enterprising trio - Neha Kant, Suman Chowdhary and Sunanda Agarwal.
Kant headed digital marketing at Smile Group's Bestylish.com previously.
Chowdhary and Agarwal, the other co-founders, are fashion designers by qualification.
Agarwal graduated from the National Institute of Design, while Chowdhary is an National Institute of Fashion Design alumnus.
Both Agarwal, the creative head at Moodsofcloe, and Chowdhary, the product head, have previously worked at various fashion houses.
The funding was raised just a couple of months before the site went live in January this year.
Founder and CEO Neha Kant said the firm's firm focus is on fashion lingerie, currently an underserved market in India.
"We are looking at offline expansion in the top six tier I cities and also contemplating a simultaneous global launch," she added.
The site has already had almost a million visitors, with a high percentage of them being repeat visitors.
