Nabard sanctions Rs 2.05 cr

The National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (Nabard) has sanctioned Rs 2.05 crore to the state agriculture department as a way of grant to implement the System of Rice Intensification (SRI) technology.

Under this, the SRI technology would be promoted in 4,000 ha in four districts, by taking 1,000 ha in 10 blocks for each district. The cost would be shared by Nabard and the state. SRI is a method of paddy cultivation, which reduces cultivation cost by one-third on account of savings on seed, water, energy, a release said.
