Revival of brand Datsun
Nissan Motors Japan launched a subsidiary brand known as Datsun, after the first world war, to spread their sphere to prospective markets and probable consumers. Datsun is a cost-effective brand of Nissan which produces low segment cars, focussing on first-time buyers and cheaper markets worldwide. The Japanese carmaker phased out the brand in 1986 and the existing models were included in the mother brand. However, in early 2013, Datsun was revived by the Japanese major and the brand's global debut took place in Delhi, India. The new car under the revived brand was the Datsun GO - an entry level 'A' segment hatch. The company officially displayed the production version of the hatch at the recently held 12th India Auto Expo. Scheduled to be launched later this month, Go's pre-booking began shortly after it was showcased, with an amount of Rs 11k.Text
