Taking a dig at the state Congress president Arjun Modhwadia for misleading citizen of Gujarat on issue of Wal-Mart's alleged memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the state government, the state government spokesperson ministers Jay Narayan Vyas and Saurabh Patel clarified that Gujarat government has not signed any MOU with the foreign company Wal-Mart.
"Leaders of state Congress keep carrying the bier of falsehood. This latest lie of them is a yet more example of how they are leading the people of Gujarat astray," the ministers said in a statement issued on Friday. Ministers further added that Gujarat government has never backed 51 per cent FDI in retail sector. "But it seems that Congress leaders have no other activity but to fabricate a new lie every other day and thus to mislead the people of Gujarat," they added.
Centre's approval to 'FDI in Retail' has witnessed a nation-wide rage from the people. State Congress leaders, in a want to please their high command and to cover the nation-wide fury against their party, conveniently forgot the greater good of nation, the ministers maintained.
According to them, the Central government has proved to be incapable of curbing the issues of price-rise and terrorism and has lost people's faith. "Now, by allowing foreign companies in retail sector it is trying to ruin the lives of crores of small traders in India," they said.
