Reliance Retail, the retailing major, plans to launch five cash & carry stores in the country in the next quarter, a top company official said here on Wednesday. Presently, the company has two stores christened Reliance Market operational in Ahmedabad and Bangalore.

"We have five more stores coming out of the ground that will come up in the next quarter," Randall Guttery, CEO of Reliance Market, a division of the Reliance Fresh Limited, told reporters.

Two each would come up in the north and west, and one will open in the south.

He said that the company is focused on making the cash & carry format work and understand requirements of customers. "We will first go slow. Once we make it work, then we will grow fast," he said adding that it had 108,000 business partner members, including 17,000 kirana traders as members.

On the 50,000 square feet Bangalore Reliance Market, the company said, it has a collection of over 8,500 products, both food and non-food, with over 85,000 business partner members already enrolled.
