Rupee edged up early on Wednesday in line with stronger regional peers while early gains in the domestic sharemarket also helped by raising hopes for foreign capital inflows.
* At 9:32 a.m. the partially convertible rupee was at 46.58/59 per dollar, off an early high of 46.5050 but still stronger than its close of 46.66/67 on Tuesday.
* Most Asian units were stronger compared to the dollar.
* The euro extended gains on Wednesday, having earned a reprieve in the previous session, as investors unwound short positions in the single currency on reports that a rescue package for Greece was in the works.
* The BSE Sensex rose 0.6 percent in early trade on Wednesday but later turned marginally lower pulling down the rupee from its highs.
