The children of the rich cannot inherit their parents' wealth.

No, this isn't Napoleon from George Orwell's Animal Farm.

It's Arundhati Roy, who has been moved enough to doff her hat to the Occupy Wall Street movement.

In a speech at the People's University in Washington Square, which has since been re-published in the Guardian under the title We are all Occupiers, Roy said the Occupy movement has introduced 'a new imagination, a new political language into the heart of empire'.

As expected, the US government has not been spared. But what was truly flippant were the nature of some of her rants against Uncle Sam:

Tens of thousands of US troops and death squads are moving into Africa, Ms Roy declaimed.

As a friend and colleague asked, pray which African country is she talking about?

She also seems to imply that the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan took place only because 'Ever since the Great Depression, the manufacture of weapons and the export of war have been key ways in which the United States has stimulated its economy'.

A simplistic and purely sensationalist speech? You tell us.
