State Bank of Travancore (SBT) has surpassed its target of Rs 500 crore by disbursing agriculture loan of Rs 502 crore to 94,000 farmers from July 20 to September 30.
The bank had observed SBT Harithotsavam 2009, an intensive campaign to increase lending to farmers during this period, targeting a disbursement of Rs 500 crore to the agriculture segment. Along with Nabard, the bank facilitated formation of 70 farmer clubs during the period.
It currently supports 200 farmer clubs, a bank release said.
