New Delhi, Nov 22 (IANS) The Supreme Court Thursday issued notice to a consultancy firm with offices in Chennai and Singapore on Janata Party president Subramanian Swamy's plea seeking contempt of court proceedings against it.
Swamy sought the proceedings against the company for filing a defamation case against him in a Singapore court.
The apex court bench of Justice G.S. Singhvi and Justice K.S. Radhakrishnan issued notice on Swamy's allegation that Singapore−headquartered Advantage Strategic Consulting Pvt. Ltd had filed the defamation case to deter him from pursuing litigation seeking Finance Minister P. Chidambaram's prosecution for his alleged role in the 2G scam.
Swamy said Chidambaram's son Karti and daughter−in−law Srinidhi held stakes in the company. He said the firm's operations in Singapore and India were linked.
